No. 59/2017 Working with Children Act 2005 Working with Children Amendment (Reportable Conduct) Regulations 2017 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 27 June 2017 Responsible Minister: MARTIN PAKULA Attorney-General ANDREW ROBINSON Clerk of the Executive Council 1 Objective The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Working with Children Regulations 2016— (a) to include a definition of the Commission for Children and Young People; and (b) to prescribe the Commission for Children and Young People as a body for the purposes of sections 10(3)(b), 11(1)(b), 14(1)(a), 21(1)(b), 21AA(1)(a) and 21AD(1)(a) of the Working with Children Act 2005; and (c) to prescribe findings referred to the Secretary by the Commission for Children and Young People for the purposes of sections 14(1)(a) and 21AD(1)(a) of the Working with Children Act 2005. -- 2 of 5 -- Working with Children Amendment (Reportable Conduct) Regulations 2017 S.R. No. 59/2017 2 Authorised by the Chief Parliamentary Counsel 2 Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 49 of the Working with Children Act 2005. 3 Commencement These Regulations come into operation on 1 July 2017. 4 Principal Regulations In these Regulations, the Working with Children Regulations 20161 are called the Principal Regulations. 5 Definitions In regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations insert the following definition— "Commission for Children and Young People means the Commission for Children and Young People established by section 6 of the Commission for Children and Young People Act 2012;". 6 Prescribed bodies In regulation 8 of the Principal Regulations— (a) in paragraph (b), for "Panel." substitute "Panel;"; and (b) after paragraph (b) insert— "(c) the Commission for Children and Young People.". 7 Findings of a prescribed kind In regulation 9 of the Principal Regulations— (a) in paragraph (b), for "that Act." substitute "that Act;"; and -- 3 of 5 -- Working with Children Amendment (Reportable Conduct) Regulations 2017 S.R.
