No. 78/2016 Retirement Villages Act 1986 Retirement Villages (Contractual Arrangements) Amendment Regulations 2016 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 28 June 2016 Responsible Minister: MARLENE KAIROUZ Minister for Consumer Affairs, Gaming and Liquor Regulation ANDREW ROBINSON Clerk of the Executive Council 1 Objective The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Retirement Villages (Contractual Arrangements) Regulations 2006 to— (a) revoke the formula for calculation of the adjusted maintenance charge consequent upon the relocation of that formula to the Retirement Villages Act 1986 by the Consumer Acts and Other Acts Amendment Act 2016; and (b) make a number of other related consequential amendments. 2 Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 43 of the Retirement Villages Act 1986. -- 2 of 5 -- Retirement Villages (Contractual Arrangements) Amendment Regulations 2016 S.R. No. 78/2016 2 Authorised by the Chief Parliamentary Counsel 3 Commencement These Regulations come into operation on 1 July 2016. 4 Principal Regulations In these Regulations the Retirement Villages (Contractual Arrangements) Regulations 2006 1 are called the Principal Regulations. 5 Regulation 1 amended Regulation 1(d) of the Principal Regulations is revoked. 6 Definitions In regulation 4 of the Principal Regulations, the definitions of consumer price index number, existing retirement village, new retirement village and relevant financial year are revoked. 7 Regulation 8A revoked Regulation 8A of the Principal Regulations is revoked. 8 Regulation 9 amended (1) In regulation 9(1) of the Principal Regulations, omit ", other than regulation 8A,". (2) Regulation 9(3) and (4) of the Principal Regulations are revoked. (3) The notes at the foot of regulation 9 of the Principal Regulations are revoked. 9 Schedule 4 amended In clause 8 of Schedule 4 to the Principal Regulations— (a) the definition of Australian Statistician is revoked; and -- 3 of 5 -- Retirement Villages (Contractual Arrangements) Amendment Regulations 2016 S.R.
