Corrections Amendment (Firearms) Regulations
2015
The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1 Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to amend the
Corrections Regulations 2009 to further prescribe
types of non-lethal firearms able to be used by
escort officers in prisons.
2 Authorising provision
These Regulations are made under section 112 of
the Corrections Act 1986.
3 Regulation 8 substituted
For regulation 8 of the Corrections Regulations
20091 substitute—
"8 Non-lethal firearms
For the purpose of section 55EC of the Act, a
prescribed non-lethal firearm is—
(a) a tear gas gun or projector; or

(b) a shotgun which fires rounds
commonly known as 'bean bag'
rounds.".
