No. 56/2014 Dangerous Goods Act 1985 Dangerous Goods (Storage and Handling) Amendment Regulations 2014 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 17 June 2014 Responsible Minister: GORDON RICH-PHILLIPS Assistant Treasurer YVETTE CARISBROOKE Clerk of the Executive Council 1 Objective The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Dangerous Goods (Storage and Handling) Regulations 2012 to permit duty holders to comply with a range of editions of the GHS. 2 Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 52 of the Dangerous Goods Act 1985. 3 Commencement These Regulations come into operation on 1 July 2014. 4 Principal Regulations In these Regulations, the Dangerous Goods (Storage and Handling) Regulations 2012 1 are called the Principal Regulations. -- 2 of 4 -- S.R. No. 56/2014 Dangerous Goods (Storage and Handling) Amendment Regulations 2014 2 Authorised by the Chief Parliamentary Counsel 5 Definitions In regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations, in the definition of GHS— (a) for "Harmonised" substitute "Harmonized"; and (b) for "or Fourth" substitute ", Fourth revised edition or Fifth". 6 Incorporation of references For regulation 7(4) of the Principal Regulations substitute— "(4) In complying with the GHS, a person may use the Third revised edition, the Fourth revised edition or the Fifth revised edition of the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals, but not a combination of these editions.". ═══════════════ r. 5 -- 3 of 4 -- S.R.
