The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.   Airbus Industrie A319, A320 and A321 Series Aeroplanes   AD/A320/129 Amdt 1 Parking Brake Operating Valve   5/2002     Applicability:   Airbus A319, A320 and A321 aeroplanes as specified in DGAC AD 2001-384(B)R1. Requirement: Action per DGAC AD 2001-384(B) R1. Compliance:   As detailed in the requirement document with a revised effective date of 16 May 2002.   This Amendment becomes effective on 16 May 2002.   Background:   Airbus Industrie has advised that certain Messier Bugatti parking brake operating valves are susceptible to leakage of hydraulic fluid. This could lead to depletion of the Yellow hydraulic system fluid and render the Alternate Braking and Emergency Braking System inoperative.   This amendment requires the repair or replacement of the affected components by 31 December 2002.   The original issue of this directive became effective on 24 October 2001.   Eugene Paul Holzapfel Delegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority 27 March 2002                     The above AD is notified in the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette on 24 April 2002.       Page 1 of 1
