Short title This Act may be cited as the Australia Acts (Request) Act 1985 . 2. Commencement This Act shall commence on the day on which it receives the Royal assent. 3. Request for Commonwealth legislation The Parliament of the State requests the enactment by the Parliament of the Commonwealth of an Act in, or substantially in, the terms set out in Schedule 1 . 4. Request and consent to United Kingdom legislation The Parliament and Government of the State request and consent to the enactment by the Parliament of the United Kingdom of an Act in, or substantially in, the terms set out in the Schedule to the Act contained in Schedule 2 . 5. Request and consent to Commonwealth legislation The Parliament and Government of the State request and consent to the enactment by the Parliament of the Commonwealth of an Act in, or substantially in, the terms set out in Schedule 2 . 6. Repeal of Constitutional Powers (Tasmania) Act 1979 The Constitutional Powers (Tasmania) Act 1979 is repealed.
