Criminal Code (Government Agencies) Regulation 2026
1 Short title
This regulation may be cited as the
Criminal Code (Government Agencies) Regulation 2026 .
2 Commencement
This regulation commences on the day the
Penalties and Sentences (Sexual Offences) and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2025 , section 10 commences.
3 Government agencies
For the
Criminal Code , section 97A(3), definition
government agency , paragraph (b), each of the following entities is prescribed to be a government agency— (a) the Crime and Corruption Commission;
(b) Legal Aid Queensland established under the
Legal Aid Queensland Act 1997 ;
(c) a local government;
(d) the Office of the Ombudsman established under the
Ombudsman Act 2001 ;
(e) the Parole Board Queensland established under the
Corrective Services Act 2006 ;
(f) the Queensland Audit Office established under the
Auditor-General Act 2009 ;
(g) the Supreme Court Library Committee established under the
Supreme Court Library Act 1968 .
