Defamation Order 2017
I make the following order under
section 35(3) of the
Defamation Act 2005
. 29 May 2017 MATTHEW GUY GROOM Minister for State Growth acting for and on behalf of the Minister for Justice
1.
Short title
This order may be cited as the
Defamation Order 2017 .
2.
Commencement
This order takes effect on 1 July 2017.
3.
Maximum damages amount
For the purposes of
section 35(1) of the
Defamation Act 2005
, the maximum damages amount that is to apply from 1 July 2017 is declared to be $389 500. Displayed and numbered in accordance with the
Rules Publication Act 1953 . Notified in the Gazette on 7 June 2017 This order is administered in the Department of Justice.
