Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Amendment
Regulations 2013
The Lieutenant-Governor as the Governor's deputy with the
advice of the Executive Council makes the following
Regulations:

1 Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to amend the
Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Regulations
2008 to prescribe a Code of Practice for the
purposes of section 11 of the Prevention of
Cruelty to Animals Act 1986.
2 Authorising provision
These Regulations are made under section 42 of
the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1986.

3 New regulation 105A inserted
After regulation 105 of the Prevention of Cruelty
to Animals Regulations 2008 1 insert—
"105A Defence to cruelty or aggravated cruelty
For the purposes of section 11(2) of the Act,
the Australian Code of Practice is
prescribed.".
