No. 23/2013 Road Safety Act 1986 Road Safety (Drivers) Amendment (Fees) Interim Regulations 2013 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 19 February 2013 Responsible Minister: TERRY MULDER Minister for Roads MATTHEW McBEATH Clerk of the Executive Council 1 Objective The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Road Safety (Drivers) Regulations 2009 to increase the fee that is payable for grant or renewal of a 3 year, 4 year or 10 year driver licence. 2 Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 95 of the Road Safety Act 1986. 3 Commencement (1) These Regulations (except regulation 6) come into operation on the day on which they are made. (2) Regulation 6 comes into operation on 30 January 2014. -- 2 of 6 -- S.R. No. 23/2013 Road Safety (Drivers) Amendment (Fees) Interim Regulations 2013 Authorised by the Chief Parliamentary Counsel 2 4 Principal Regulations In these Regulations, the Road Safety (Drivers) Regulations 2009 1 are called the Principal Regulations. 5 Amendments to Schedule 5 (1) After item 7 of Schedule 5 to the Principal Regulations insert— "7A Despite item 7, grant or renewal of driver licence in the period commencing on 1 April 2013 and ending on 29 January 2014—for 10 years 62(2) 19·15 7B Despite item 7, renewal of driver licence where licence expires in the period commencing on 1 April 2013 and ending on 29 January 2014—for 10 years 62(2) 19·15". r. 4 -- 3 of 6 -- S.R. No. 23/2013 Road Safety (Drivers) Amendment (Fees) Interim Regulations 2013 Authorised by the Chief Parliamentary Counsel 3 (2) After item 8 of Schedule 5 to the Principal Regulations insert— "8A Despite item 8, grant or renewal of driver licence in the period commencing on 1 April 2013 and ending on 29 January 2014—for 4 years 62(2) 7·45 8B Despite item 8, renewal of driver licence where licence expires in the period commencing on 1 April 2013 and ending on 29 January 2014—for 4 years 62(2) 7·45". r. 5 -- 4 of 6 -- S.R. No. 23/2013 Road Safety (Drivers) Amendment (Fees) Interim Regulations 2013 Authorised by the Chief Parliamentary Counsel 4 (3) After item 9 of Schedule 5 to the Principal Regulations insert— "9A Despite item 9, grant or renewal of driver licence in the period commencing on 1 April 2013 and ending on 29 January 2014—for 3 years 62(2) 5·59 9B Despite item 9, renewal of driver licence where licence expires in the period commencing on 1 April 2013 and ending on 29 January 2014—for 3 years 62(2) 5·59". 6 Revocation of amendments to Schedule 5 (1) Items 7A and 7B of Schedule 5 to the Principal Regulations are revoked. (2) Items 8A and 8B of Schedule 5 to the Principal Regulations are revoked. (3) Items 9A and 9B of Schedule 5 to the Principal Regulations are revoked. 7 Expiry These Regulations expire on 31 January 2014. ═══════════════ r. 6 -- 5 of 6 -- S.R.
