No. 59/2013 Road Safety Act 1986 Road Safety (Drivers) Amendment (Renewal Fees) Interim Regulations 2013 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 4 June 2013 Responsible Minister: TERRY MULDER Minister for Roads MATTHEW McBEATH Acting Clerk of the Executive Council 1 Objective The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Road Safety (Drivers) Regulations 2009 to limit the circumstances in which a person will be eligible for reduced driver licence renewal fees. 2 Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 95 of the Road Safety Act 1986. 3 Commencement (1) These Regulations (except regulation 5) come into operation on 1 July 2013. (2) Regulation 5 comes into operation on 29 June 2014. -- 2 of 4 -- S.R. No. 59/2013 Road Safety (Drivers) Amendment (Renewal Fees) Interim Regulations 2013 2 Authorised by the Chief Parliamentary Counsel 4 Definitions for Part 6 In regulation 107 of the Road Safety (Drivers) Regulations 2009 1 , in the definition of eligible person— (a) in paragraph (b) for "driver licence;" substitute "driver licence; and"; and (b) after paragraph (b) insert— "(c) according to the Corporation's records, will be less than 26 years of age on the expiry date of the person's driver licence;". 5 Revocation of amendments In regulation 107 of the Road Safety (Drivers) Regulations 2009, in the definition of eligible person— (a) in paragraph (b) for "driver licence; and" substitute "driver licence;"; and (b) paragraph (c) is revoked. 6 Expiry These Regulations expire on 30 June 2014. ═══════════════ r. 4 -- 3 of 4 -- S.R.
