NORTHERN TERRITORY OF AUSTRALIA VALIDATION (MINING TENEMENTS) ACT 1987 As in force at 28 August 1987 Table of provisions 1 Short title ......................................................................................... 1 2 Validation of certain mining tenements ............................................ 1 ENDNOTES -- 1 of 5 -- -- 2 of 5 -- NORTHERN TERRITORY OF AUSTRALIA ____________________ As in force at 28 August 1987 ____________________ VALIDATION (MINING TENEMENTS) ACT 1987 An Act to ensure the validity of certain mining tenement granted under the Mining Act 1986 1 Short title This Act may be cited as the Validation (Mining Tenements) Act 1987. 2 Validation of certain mining tenements (1) For the avoidance of doubt: (a) a mining tenement within the meaning of the Mining Act 1986 granted or purported to be granted under that Act before the commencement of this Act is declared to have been validly granted notwithstanding that, in respect of that grant or purported grant, a recommendation of a warden may not have been made, transmitted or considered; and (b) a mineral claim within the meaning of the Mining Act 1986 granted or purported to be granted under that Act before the commencement of this Act is declared to have been validly granted to an applicant who was not in breach of that Act or the Regulations made under that Act notwithstanding that the Minister or the delegate of the Minister, before granting or purporting to grant that mineral claim, may not have satisfied himself of that requirement, as required by that Act.
