No. 9/2012 Bus Safety Act 2009 Bus Safety Amendment Regulations 2012 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 21 February 2012 Responsible Minister: TERRY MULDER Minister for Public Transport MATTHEW McBEATH Clerk of the Executive Council 1 Objective The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Bus Safety Regulations 2010 to enable additional flexibility in the scheduling of bus safety inspections by registered bus operators. 2 Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 75 of the Bus Safety Act 2009. 3 Commencement These Regulations come into operation on 1 March 2012. 4 Annual inspection After regulation 23(1) of the Bus Safety Regulations 2010 1 , insert— "(1A) If a registered bus operator is required to ensure that an annual safety inspection of a bus is carried out under subregulation (1), -- 2 of 4 -- S.R. No. 9/2012 Bus Safety Amendment Regulations 2012 2 Authorised by the Chief Parliamentary Counsel the first inspection of the bus must take place within 365 days following registration of the bus operator or, if the bus is acquired after registration, within 365 days following its acquisition. (1B) Each subsequent annual inspection must be conducted not earlier than 14 days before, and not later than 14 days after, the anniversary of the date on which the first inspection is conducted.". ═══════════════ r. 4 -- 3 of 4 -- S.R.
