No. 117/2012 Local Government Act 1989 Local Government (Long Service Leave) Amendment Regulations 2012 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 23 October 2012 Responsible Minister: JEANETTE POWELL Minister for Local Government MATTHEW McBEATH Clerk of the Executive Council 1 Objectives The objectives of these Regulations are to amend the Local Government (Long Service Leave) Regulations 2012— (a) revoke the definition of ordinary pay; and (b) to provide for payments, of deferred long service entitlements of members who voluntarily terminate their employment with the Council, to be made to public service bodies or special bodies on a discretionary rather than a mandatory basis. 2 Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 243 of the Local Government Act 1989. -- 2 of 4 -- S.R. No. 117/2012 Local Government (Long Service Leave) Amendment Regulations 2012 2 Authorised by the Chief Parliamentary Counsel 3 Definition of ordinary pay revoked Regulation 6 of the Local Government (Long Service Leave) Regulations 20121 is revoked. 4 Entitlement to long service leave on voluntary termination if member has 7 years of recognised service In regulation 9(5)(b) of the Local Government (Long Service Leave) Regulations 2012, for "must pay" substitute "may pay". ═══════════════ r. 3 -- 3 of 4 -- S.R.
