No. 84/2012 Road Safety Act 1986 Road Safety (General) Amendment (Car Doors) Regulations 2012 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 31 July 2012 Responsible Minister: TERRY MULDER Minister for Roads MATTHEW McBEATH Clerk of the Executive Council 1 Objective The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Road Safety (General) Regulations 2009 to increase the infringement penalty for the offence of causing a hazard to any person or vehicle by opening a door of a vehicle, leaving a door of a vehicle open or getting off, or out of, a vehicle. 2 Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 95 of the Road Safety Act 1986. 3 Schedule 7—Traffic Infringements In column 5 of item 76 of Schedule 7 to the Road Safety (General) Regulations 20091 , for "1 penalty unit" substitute "2·5 penalty units". ═══════════════ -- 2 of 3 -- S.R.
