No. 120/2011 Supreme Court Act 1986 Criminal Procedure Act 2009 Supreme Court (Chapter VI Amendment No. 7) Rules 2011 The Judges of the Supreme Court make the following Rules: 1 Object The object of these Rules is to amend the Supreme Court (Criminal Procedure) Rules 2008 to provide for the Registrar of Criminal Appeals to constitute the Court of Appeal for the purposes of making an order for an appellant in custody to attend court in accordance with Rule 2.36. 2 Authorising provisions These Rules are made under section 25 of the Supreme Court Act 1986, the Criminal Procedure Act 2009 and all other enabling powers. 3 Commencement These Rules come into operation on 7 November 2011. 4 Attendance of appellant After Rule 2.36(4) of the Supreme Court (Criminal Procedure) Rules 20081 insert— "(5) The Registrar may constitute the Court of Appeal for the purposes of making an order to bring an appellant who is in custody before the Court pursuant to— -- 2 of 5 -- S.R. No. 120/2011 Supreme Court (Chapter VI Amendment No. 7) Rules 2011 Authorised by the Chief Parliamentary Counsel 2 (a) regulations made under the Corrections Act 1986; or (b) section 490 of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005.
