No. 17/2010 Infringements Act 2006 Infringements (General) Amendment Regulations 2010 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 16 March 2010 Responsible Minister: ROB HULLS Attorney-General TOBY HALLIGAN Clerk of the Executive Council 1 Objectives The objectives of these Regulations are— (a) to amend the Infringements (General) Regulations 2006 to prescribe certain infringement offences under the Electrical Safety Act 1998, the Marine Act 1988, the Mineral Resources (Sustainable Development) Act 1990, the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008, the Transport Act 1983 and the Tobacco Act 1987 as lodgeable infringement offences for the purposes of the Infringements Act 2006; (b) to make other amendments of a minor or consequential nature to the Infringements (General) Regulations 2006. -- 2 of 8 -- S.R. No. 17/2010 Infringements (General) Amendment Regulations 2010 2 2 Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 168 of the Infringements Act 2006. 3 Principal Regulations In these Regulations, the Infringements (General) Regulations 2006 1 are called the Principal Regulations. 4 Commencement (1) These Regulations (except regulation 6(2)) come into operation on the day on which they are made. (2) Regulation 6(2) comes into operation on 1 January 2011. 5 Consequential amendments for Justice Legislation Miscellaneous Amendments Act 2009 (1) In regulation 23 of the Principal Regulations, for "122" substitute "123(1A)". (2) In regulation 30 of the Principal Regulations, for "section 134(a)" substitute "Part 11". 6 Schedule 3 amended (1) Item 3 of Schedule 3 to the Principal Regulations is revoked. (2) In item 10A.1 of Schedule 3 to the Principal Regulations, after "5R(1)," insert "6(2AA),".
