No. 78/2010 Non-Emergency Patient Transport Act 2003 Non-Emergency Patient Transport Amendment Regulations 2010 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 17 August 2010 Responsible Minister: DANIEL ANDREWS Minister for Health MATTHEW McBEATH Acting Clerk of the Executive Council 1 Objective The objective of these Regulations is to make amendments to the Non-Emergency Patient Transport Regulations 2005 as a result of the enactment of the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009, which implements the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law as a law in Victoria. 2 Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 64 of the Non-Emergency Patient Transport Act 2003. -- 2 of 4 -- S.R. No. 78/2010 Non-Emergency Patient Transport Amendment Regulations 2010 2 3 Definitions (1) In Regulation 4 of the Non-Emergency Patient Transport Regulations 2005 1 for the definition of nurse substitute— "nurse means a person registered under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law— (a) to practise in the nursing and midwifery profession as a nurse (other than as a midwife or as a student); and (b) in the registered nurses division of that profession;". (2) In Regulation 4 of the Non-Emergency Patient Transport Regulations 2005 insert the following definition— "registered medical practitioner means a person registered under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law to practise in the medical profession (other than as a student);". ═══════════════ r. 3 -- 3 of 4 -- S.R.
