No. 33/2009 Freedom of Information Act 1982 Freedom of Information Regulations 2009 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 7 April 2009 Responsible Minister: ROB HULLS Attorney-General RYAN HEATH Clerk of the Executive Council 1 Objectives The objectives of these Regulations are— (a) to declare certain bodies to be prescribed authorities for the purposes of the Freedom of Information Act 1982; (b) to prescribe certain offices for the purposes of section 5(3)(a) of that Act. 2 Authorising provisions These Regulations are made under sections 5 and 66 of the Freedom of Information Act 1982. 3 Revocation The following regulations are revoked— (a) the Freedom of Information Regulations 1998 1 ; (b) the Freedom of Information (Amendment) Regulations 2001 2 . -- 2 of 6 -- Freedom of Information Regulations 2009 S.R. No. 33/2009 2 4 Definition In these Regulations— the Act means the Freedom of Information Act 1982. 5 Prescribed authorities In accordance with paragraph (b) of the definition of prescribed authority in section 5(1) of the Act, each body and each body in a class of bodies specified in the Schedule is declared to be a prescribed authority for the purposes of the Act. 6 Exempt offices For the purposes of section 5(3)(a) of the Act the following are prescribed offices— (a) the Director of Public Prosecutions; (b) the Public Advocate; (c) the Solicitor-General. __________________ r. 4 -- 3 of 6 -- Freedom of Information Regulations 2009 S.R.
