No. 140/2009 Road Safety Act 1986 Road Safety Road Rules Amendment (Speed-Limit) Rules 2009 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 10 November 2009 Responsible Minister: TIM PALLAS Minister for Roads and Ports TOBY HALLIGAN Clerk of the Executive Council 1 Objective The objective of these Rules is to make a minor amendment to the penalty for a speeding offence. 2 Authorising provision These Rules are made under section 95D of the Road Safety Act 1986. 3 Obeying the speed-limit (1) In rule 20(1) of the Road Safety Road Rules 2009 1 for "35 km per hour or less" (wherever occurring) substitute "less than 35 km per hour". (2) In the note to rule 20(1) of the Road Safety Road Rules 2009 for "greater than 35 km per hour" substitute "35 km per hour or more". ═══════════════ -- 2 of 3 -- S.R.
