No. 147/2009 Travel Agents Act 1986 Travel Agents Amendment Regulations 2009 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 1 December 2009 Responsible Minister: TONY ROBINSON Minister for Consumer Affairs TOBY HALLIGAN Clerk of the Executive Council 1 Objective The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Travel Agents Regulations 2007 to prescribe qualifications for managers of an international travel business. 2 Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 48 of the Travel Agents Act 1986. 3 Prescribed qualifications and experience of managers (1) In regulation 14(2)(a) of the Travel Agents Regulations 2007 1 after "completion of" insert "at least one of". (2) For regulation 14(2)(a)(i) and (ii) of the Travel Agents Regulations 2007 substitute— '(i) the Unit of Competency known as THTSOP20A; or -- 2 of 4 -- S.R. No. 147/2009 Travel Agents Amendment Regulations 2009 2 (ii) a unit of competency equivalent to the Unit of Competency known as THTSOP20A comprising the elements— (A) "Interpret international airfare information"; and (B) "Construct and cost international airfares and itineraries"; and (C) "Record customer quotations and administer customer file"; or (iii) a Unit of Competency known as SITTTSL013A; or (iv) a unit of competency equivalent to the Unit of Competency known as SITTTSL013A comprising the elements— (A) "Interpret international airfare information"; and (B) "Configure air itineraries and cost international airfares"; and (C) "Construct fares incorporating add-ons"; and'. ═══════════════ r. 3 -- 3 of 4 -- S.R.
