No. 127/2008 Crimes (Controlled Operations) Act 2004 Crimes (Controlled Operations) Regulations 2008 The Lieutenant-Governor as the Governor's deputy with the advice of the Executive Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 28 October 2008 Responsible Minister: ROB HULLS Attorney General ZOE WONG Acting Clerk of the Executive Council 1 Objectives The objectives of these Regulations are to prescribe matters for the purposes of the Crimes (Controlled Operations) Act 2004. 2 Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 47 of the Crimes (Controlled Operations) Act 2004. 3 Commencement These Regulations come into operation on 2 November 2008. 4 Corresponding laws For the purposes of the definition of corresponding law in section 3 of the Crimes (Controlled Operations) Act 2004, the following are corresponding laws— -- 2 of 4 -- S.R. No. 127/2008 Crimes (Controlled Operations) Regulations 2008 2 (a) Law Enforcement (Controlled Operations) Act 1997 of New South Wales; (b) Police Powers (Controlled Operations) Act 2007 of Tasmania; (c) Part 4, Division 5 and Part 6, Division 4 of the Corruption and Crime Commission Act 2003 of Western Australia; (d) Crimes (Controlled Operations) Act 2008 of the Australian Capital Territory; (e) Chapters 10 and 11 of the Police Powers and Responsibilities Act 2000 of Queensland; (f) Part IAB of the Crimes Act 1914 of the Commonwealth. 5 Prescribed member of staff of the Office of Police Integrity For the purposes of paragraph (b) of the definition of prescribed member of staff of the Office of Police Integrity in section 3 of the Crimes (Controlled Operations) Act 2004, the following positions and classes of employees are prescribed— (a) the position of Deputy Director, Police Integrity; (b) the position of Assistant Director, Police Integrity; (c) employees in the Office of Police Integrity classified as Executive Officer; (d) employees in the Office of Police Integrity classified as non-executive employees Grade 4, 5 or 6 or Senior Technical Specialist. r. 5 -- 3 of 4 -- S.R. No. 127/2008 Crimes (Controlled Operations) Regulations 2008 3 6 Senior officers of the Office of Police Integrity For the purposes of the definition of senior officer in section 45(2) of the Crimes (Controlled Operations) Act 2004, the following positions are prescribed— (a) Deputy Director, Police Integrity; (b) Assistant Director, Police Integrity. ═══════════════ r. 6 -- 4 of 4 --
