No. 20/2008 Liquor Control Reform Act 1998 Liquor Control Reform (Prohibited Supply) Amendment Regulations 2008 The Lieutenant-Governor as the Governor's deputy with the advice of the Executive Council, on the recommendation of the Minister, makes the following Regulations: Dated: 8 April 2008 Responsible Minister: TONY ROBINSON Minister for Consumer Affairs RYAN HEATH Clerk of the Executive Council 1 Objective The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Liquor Control Reform (Prohibited Supply) Regulations 2005 to prohibit the supply of certain alcoholic beverages that are supplied in flexible tubes. 2 Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 118B of the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998. 3 Commencement These Regulations come into operation on 15 April 2008. 1 -- 2 of 4 -- S.R. No. 20/2008 Liquor Control Reform (Prohibited Supply) Amendment Regulations 2008 r. 4 4 Prohibition of supply of certain liquor tubes inserted After Regulation 6 of the Liquor Control Reform (Prohibited Supply) Regulations 20051 insert— "7 Prohibition of supply of certain liquor supplied in flexible tubes (1) A person must not supply liquor in a flexible tube bearing a name that includes any one or more of the words "GO", "Vodka", "Wodka" or "Eikohol", whether spelled in uppercase, lowercase or any combination of both. Penalty: 30 penalty units. (2) For the purposes of subregulation (1)— flexible tube means a flexible metal, plastic or laminate container sealed permanently at one end and having a cap at the other end.
