No. 96/2008 Local Government Act 1989 Local Government (General) Amendment Regulations 2008 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 5 August 2008 Responsible Minister: RICHARD WYNNE Minister for Local Government RYAN HEATH Clerk of the Executive Council 1 Objective The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Local Government (General) Regulations 2004 to alter the threshold value for contracts which a council must list for public inspection. 2 Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 243 of the Local Government Act 1989. 3 Documents to be made available for public inspection For regulation 11(q) of the Local Government (General) Regulations 2004 1 substitute— "(q) a list of contracts valued at $100 000 (or such higher amount as is fixed from time to time under section 186(1) of the Act) or more— -- 2 of 4 -- S.R. No. 96/2008 Local Government (General) Amendment Regulations 2008 2 (i) which the Council entered into during the financial year without first engaging in a competitive process; and (ii) which are not contracts referred to in section 186(5) of the Act. Note The Act provides that an amount higher than $100 000 may be fixed by Order in Council made under section 186(1) of the Act.". ═══════════════ r. 3 -- 3 of 4 -- S.R.
