No. 146/2008 Police Integrity Act 2008 Police Integrity (Legal Assistance for Witnesses) Regulations 2008 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 25 November 2008 Responsible Minister: BOB CAMERON Minister for Police and Emergency Services RYAN HEATH Clerk of the Executive Council 1 Objective The objective of these Regulations is to make provision for the manner of calculating the amount of legal assistance provided by the Secretary to witnesses summoned to attend an examination before the Director, Police Integrity. 2 Authorising provisions These Regulations are made under section 77 of the Police Integrity Act 2008. 3 Calculation of the amount of legal assistance provided by the Secretary (1) This regulation applies if the Secretary has approved an application for legal assistance for a person appearing as a witness in an examination under section 76 of the Police Integrity Act 2008. -- 2 of 3 -- S.R. No. 146/2008 Police Integrity (Legal Assistance for Witnesses) Regulations 2008 2 (2) For the purposes of section 77 of the Police Integrity Act 2008, the amount of legal assistance provided by the Secretary must be calculated in accordance with the scale of costs set out in the Table below.
