No. 16/2008 Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1986 Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Prohibited Procedures) Regulations 2008 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 18 March 2008 Responsible Minister: JOE HELPER Minister for Agriculture RYAN HEATH Clerk of the Executive Council 1 Objective The objective of these Regulations is to remove animal cruelty offences relating to tail docking of dogs and firing of horses. 2 Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 42 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1986. 3 Commencement These Regulations come into operation on 20 March 2008. 4 Revocation of prohibition on tail docking of dogs and firing of horses Regulations 7A and 7B of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Regulations 19971 are revoked. ═══════════════ 1 -- 2 of 3 -- S.R.
