No. 32/2008 Supreme Court Act 1986 Supreme Court (Chapter I Amendment No. 11) Rules 2008 The Judges of the Supreme Court make the following Rules: 1 Object The object of these Rules is to amend the Supreme Court (General Civil Procedure) Rules 2005 to permit doubled-sided printing of documents and to make minor statute law revision amendments. 2 Authorising provisions These Rules are made under section 25 of the Supreme Court Act 1986 and all other enabling powers. 3 Commencement These Rules come into operation on 12 May 2008. 4 Form of document For Rule 27.03(2) of the Supreme Court (General Civil Procedure) Rules 20051 substitute— "(2) Subject to the Rules— (a) a document may be printed single-sided or double-sided, but not partly single-sided and partly double-sided; (b) the sheets of a document shall be securely fastened— (i) if the document is single-sided, at the top left hand corner; 1 -- 2 of 5 -- S.R. No. 32/2008 Supreme Court (Chapter I Amendment No. 11) Rules 2008 r. 5 (ii) if the document is double-sided, along the left hand side; and (iii) without obscuring the writing or the margin; (c) a left hand margin of at least 25 millimetres and a top margin of 30 millimetres shall be kept clear on each sheet of a document that bears writing; (d) the pages of a document shall be consecutively numbered; and (e) a document shall have double spacing between the lines.". 5 Statute law revision In the Supreme Court (General Civil Procedure) Rules 2005— (a) in Rule 24.01(c) for "Rule 48.01(b)" substitute "Rule 48.02(b)"; (b) in Rule 42A.12(1)(a) for "him" substitute "the Prothonotary".
