No. 84/2007 Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Act 1981 Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances (Precursor Chemicals) Regulations 2007 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 24 July 2007 Responsible Minister: BRONWYN PIKE Minister for Health RUTH LEACH Clerk of the Executive Council 1 Objective The objective of these Regulations is to prescribe precursor chemicals and the quantities of precursor chemicals for the purpose of section 71D of the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Act 1981. 2 Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 132 of the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Act 1981. 3 Commencement These Regulations come into operation on 1 August 2007. 1 -- 2 of 8 -- Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances (Precursor Chemicals) Regulations 2007 S.R. No. 84/2007 r. 4 4 Definition In these Regulations— precursor chemical means a substance (including its salts, derivatives, isomers, analogues and homologues) that may be used in the preparation of a drug of dependence, whether or not the substance is contained in, or mixed with, another substance. 5 Prescribed precursor chemicals For the purpose of section 71D of the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Act 1981, a substance specified in Column 1 of Schedule 1 is a prescribed precursor chemical. 6 Prescribed quantities of prescribed precursor chemicals For the purpose of section 71D of the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Act 1981, the prescribed quantity applicable to a prescribed precursor chemical specified in Column 1 of Schedule 1 is the quantity specified in relation to that chemical in Column 2 of that Schedule. __________________ 2 -- 3 of 8 -- Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances (Precursor Chemicals) Regulations 2007 S.R.
