No. 132/2007 Health Professions Registration Act 2005 Health Professions Registration (Amendment) Regulations 2007 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 4 December 2007 Responsible Minister: DANIEL ANDREWS Minister for Health MELISSA VAN ROSSUM Acting Clerk of the Executive Council 1 Objective The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Health Professions Registration Regulations 2007 to prescribe longer time periods for the purposes of sections 18(4)(a) and 34(4) of the Health Professions Registration Act 2005. 2 Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 158 of the Health Professions Registration Act 2005. 3 Commencement These Regulations come into operation on 7 December 2007. 4 Principal Regulations In these Regulations, the Health Professions Registration Regulations 20071 are called the Principal Regulations. 1 -- 2 of 4 -- S.R. No. 132/2007 Health Professions Registration (Amendment) Regulations 2007 r. 5 5 Amendment of the objectives For regulation 1(d) of the Principal Regulations substitute— "(d) other matters required or permitted to be prescribed or necessary to be prescribed to give effect to the Act.". 6 New Regulation 5A inserted After regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations insert— "5A Prescribed period in relation to applicants to the Nurses Board of Victoria For the purposes of section 18(4)(a) of the Act, in relation to an applicant for renewal of registration as a health practitioner by the Nurses Board of Victoria, the longer period that is prescribed is five years.". 7 New Regulation 7A inserted After regulation 7 of the Principal Regulations insert— "7A Prescribed period in relation to the provision of information to the Nurses Board of Victoria For the purposes of section 34(4) of the Act, in relation to a person registered by the Nurses Board of Victoria who has not provided regulated health services for a period of time, the longer period that is prescribed is five years.". ═══════════════ 2 -- 3 of 4 -- S.R.
