No. 30/2007 Magistrates' Court Act 1989 Magistrates' Court (Criminal Procedure) (Infringements Court) Rules 2007 The Chief Magistrate together with 2 Deputy Chief Magistrates jointly make the following Rules: 1 Object The object of these Rules is to amend the Magistrates' Court (Criminal Procedure) Rules 2006 to— (a) prescribe 444 Swanston Street Carlton as the venue of the Court at which any particular proceeding or class of proceeding or procedure set out in the Infringements Act 2006 is to be brought; and (b) amend the object clause to make it consistent with Order 3 of those Rules, as amended by these Rules. 2 Authorising provisions These Rules are made under section 16 of the Magistrates' Court Act 1989 and all other enabling powers. 3 Commencement These Rules come into operation on 12 June 2007. -- 2 of 4 -- S.R. No. 30/2007 Magistrates' Court (Criminal Procedure) (Infringements Court) Rules 2007 2 4 Amendment to object In Rule 1.01 of the Magistrates' Court (Criminal Procedure) Rules 2006 1 , for paragraph (b), substitute— "(b) prescribe a venue of the Court for the purposes of the Infringements Act 2006; and". 5 Venue of Infringements Court In Rule 3.01 of the Magistrates' Court (Criminal Procedure) Rules 2006, for "436 Lonsdale Street Melbourne." substitute "444 Swanston Street Carlton.".
