No. 28/2006 Fisheries Act 1995 Fisheries (Amendment) Regulations 2006 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 28 March 2006 Responsible Minister: BOB CAMERON Minister for Agriculture RUTH LEACH Clerk of the Executive Council 1. Objective The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Fisheries Regulations 1998 to— (a) amend the conditions of Trawl (Inshore) Fishery Access Licences; and (b) prescribe the levy to be charged for 3 year recreational fishing licences; and (c) amend the closed season for rock lobster (male). 2. Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 153 of the Fisheries Act 1995. 3. Commencement These Regulations come into operation on 31 March 2006. -- 2 of 4 -- S.R. No. 28/2006 Fisheries (Amendment) Regulations 2006 2 4. Principal Regulations In these Regulations, the Fisheries Regulations 19981 are called the Principal Regulations. 5. Amendment to conditions of Trawl (Inshore) Fishery Access Licences In regulation 322(2)(i) of the Principal Regulations, for "on a statutory fishing right under the Commonwealth Act for the South East Trawl Fishery or on a fishing concession" substitute "for the purposes of a boat statutory fishing right that authorises fishing by trawl methods in the Commonwealth Trawl Sector". 6. New levy for 3 year recreational fishing licences For the Table to Regulation 406 of the Principal Regulations substitute— "Table Column 1 Class of licence Column 2 Licence period Column 3 Levy Recreational Fishing 3 years $60 Licence 1 year $22 28 days $11 2 days $5.50 ". 7. Amendment to closed season for rock lobster (male) In the item relating to "Rock lobster (male)" in the Table to regulation 506(1) of the Principal Regulations, for "1 September" substitute "15 September". ═══════════════ r. 4 -- 3 of 4 -- S.R.
