No. 120/2006 Tobacco Act 1987 Tobacco (Grand Prix Events) Regulations 2006 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 5 September 2006 Responsible Minister: BRONWYN PIKE Minister for Health RUTH LEACH Clerk of the Executive Council 1. Objective The objective of these Regulations is to prescribe the restrictions that are to apply to the advertising of tobacco products at the 2006 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix at Phillip Island. 2. Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 43 of the Tobacco Act 1987. 3. Definition In these Regulations, "Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix" means— (a) the 2006 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix; or -- 2 of 3 -- S.R. No. 120/2006 Tobacco (Grand Prix Events) Regulations 2006 2 (b) a function or event associated with the 2006 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix— to be held at Phillip Island at any time in the period from and including 15 September 2006 to and including 17 September 2006. 4. Restriction of displays at Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix Displays of the whole or part of a trademark or brand name of a tobacco product or the name of the manufacturer or distributor of a tobacco product in connection with the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix comply with section 10(1) of the Tobacco Act 1987 if the displays are restricted to— (a) signs or objects— (i) on or within the site of the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix; or (ii) on the outside of any road, sea or air vehicle used in the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix; or (iii) on any participant in the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix— that are permitted by or under section 18 of the Tobacco Advertising Prohibition Act 1992 of the Commonwealth; and (b) the period from and including 10 September 2006 to and including 20 September 2006. 5. Expiry These Regulations cease to have any force or effect on 21 September 2006. ═══════════════ r. 4 -- 3 of 3 --
