No. 21/2005 Casino Control Act 1991 Casino Control (Licence Fees) Regulations 2005 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 27 April 2005 Responsible Minister: JOHN PANDAZOPOULOS Minister for Gaming RUTH LEACH Acting Clerk of the Executive Council 1. Objectives The objectives of these Regulations are to prescribe the— (a) fees to accompany an application for a special employee licence; (b) fees to accompany an application for renewal or variation of a licence; (c) fee to be paid for a replacement licence. 2. Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 167 of the Casino Control Act 1991. -- 2 of 5 -- S.R. No. 21/2005 Casino Control (Licence Fees) Regulations 2005 2 3. Definitions In these Regulations— "category A employee" means a person who— (a) is a special employee within the meaning of paragraph (a) of the definition of special employee in section 37(1) of the Act; or (b) has a special relationship with a casino within the meaning of section 40 of the Act and is required under that section to apply for a licence; "category B employee" means a person referred to in paragraph (b) of the definition of special employee in section 37(1) of the Act but does not include a category A employee; "the Act" means the Casino Control Act 1991. 4. Revocation The Casino Control (Special Employees) Regulations 1994 1 are revoked. 5. Fees for a special employee licence The fee to accompany an application for a special employee licence under section 39(1) of the Act is— (a) 24 fee units for a category A employee; (b) 15 fee units for a category B employee. 6. Fee for persons licensed under the Gambling Regulation Act 2003 The fee to accompany an application for a special employee licence under section 45A(2) of the Act is 6·5 fee units. r. 3 -- 3 of 5 -- S.R. Fees for a renewal of licence The fee to accompany an application for a new licence under section 49(2) of the Act is— (a) 17 fee units for a category A employee; (b) 8·5 fee units for a category B employee. 8. Fee for variation of licence The fee to accompany an application for variation of a licence under section 50(1) of the Act is 2 fee units. 9. Fee for issue of replacement licence The fee to be paid for issue of a replacement licence under section 51(1) of the Act is 2 fee units. ═══════════════ r. 7 -- 4 of 5 -- S.R. No. 21/2005 Casino Control (Licence Fees) Regulations 2005 4 ENDNOTES 1 Reg. 4: S.R. No. 60/1994 as extended in operation by S.R. No. 18/2004. Subsequently amended by S.R. No. 88/2004. —— These Regulations provide for fees by reference to fee units established under the Monetary Units Act 2004. The amount of the fee is to be calculated, in accordance with section 7 of that Act, by multiplying the number of fee units applicable by the value of a fee unit. The value of a fee unit for the financial year commencing 1 July 2004, is $10.23. The amount of the calculated fee may be rounded to the nearest 10 cents. The value of a fee unit for future financial years is to be fixed by the Treasurer under section 5 of the Monetary Units Act 2004. The value of a fee unit must be published in the Government Gazette and a Victorian newspaper before 1 July in the financial year in which it is going to apply. Endnotes -- 5 of 5 --
