No. 113/2005 Health Services Act 1988 Health Services (Private Hospitals and Day Procedure Centres) (Fees) Regulations 2005 The Lieutenant-Governor as the Governor's Deputy with the advice of the Executive Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 20 September 2005 Responsible Minister: BRONWYN PIKE Minister for Health RUTH LEACH Clerk of the Executive Council 1. Objective The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Health Services (Private Hospitals and Day Procedure Centres) Regulations 2002 to convert the prescribed fees from monetary amounts to fee units to enable the automatic indexation of those fees under the Monetary Units Act 2004. 2. Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 158 of the Health Services Act 1988. 3. Principal Regulations In these Regulations, the Health Services (Private Hospitals and Day Procedure Centres) Regulations 2002 1 are called the Principal Regulations. -- 2 of 5 -- S.R. Application for approval in principle In regulation 8(b) of the Principal Regulations, for "$655" substitute "64 fee units". 5. Application for variation or transfer of certificate of approval in principle In regulation 9(b) of the Principal Regulations, for "$165" substitute "16⋅1 fee units". 6. Application for registration In regulation 10(b) of the Principal Regulations, for "$565" substitute "55⋅2 fee units". 7. Application for renewal of registration In regulation 11(b) of the Principal Regulations, for "$555" substitute "54⋅2 fee units". 8. Application for variation of registration In regulation 12 of the Principal Regulations— (a) in paragraph (b)(i), for "$490" substitute "47⋅8 fee units"; (b) in paragraph (b)(ii), for "$165" substitute "16⋅1 fee units". 9. No. 113/2005 Health Services (Private Hospitals and Day Procedure Centres) (Fees) Regulations 2005 4 ENDNOTES 1 Reg. 3: S.R. No. 79/2002. —— Fee Units These Regulations provide for fees by reference to fee units established under the Monetary Units Act 2004. The amount of the fee is to be calculated, in accordance with section 7 of that Act, by multiplying the number of fee units applicable by the value of a fee unit. The value of a fee unit for the financial year commencing 1 July 2005, is $10.49. The amount of the calculated fee may be rounded to the nearest 10 cents. The value of a fee unit for future financial years is to be fixed by the Treasurer under section 5 of the Monetary Units Act 2004. The value of a fee unit for a financial year must be published in the Government Gazette and a Victorian newspaper before 1 June in the preceding financial year. Endnotes -- 5 of 5 --
