Regulations 2005
The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1. Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to amend the
Magistrates' Court General Regulations 2000 to
convert certain references to monetary amounts
relating to fines to penalty units.
2. Authorising provision
These Regulations are made under section 140 of
the Magistrates' Court Act 1989.
3. Conversion of monetary amounts to penalty units in
forms
(1) In Schedule 5 to the Magistrates' Court General
Regulations 2000 1 , in Form 10A—
(a) for "$2000" (where first occurring)
substitute "20 penalty units";
(b) for "$5000" substitute "50 penalty units".

(2) In Schedule 6 to the Magistrates' Court General
Regulations 2000—
(a) in Form 4, for "EACH $100 OR PART OF
$100" substitute "EACH PENALTY UNIT
OR PART OF A PENALTY UNIT";
(b) in Form 7, for "each $100 or part of $100"
substitute "each penalty unit or part of a
penalty unit".
(3) In Schedule 8 to the Magistrates' Court General
Regulations 2000—
(a) in Form 2, for "$20" (wherever occurring)
substitute "0⋅2 penalty unit";
(b) in Form 4—
(i) for "$20" (wherever occurring)
substitute "0⋅2 penalty unit";
(ii) for "each $100 or part of $100"
substitute "each penalty unit or part of
a penalty unit";
(c) in Form 5, for "$20" (wherever occurring)
substitute "0⋅2 penalty unit".
