No. 82/2005 Marine Act 1988 Marine (Fees) Regulations 2005 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 28 June 2005 Responsible Minister: PETER BATCHELOR Minister for Transport RUTH LEACH Acting Clerk of the Executive Council 1. Objective The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Marine Regulations 1999— (a) to convert certain existing fees to equivalent fee units; and (b) to increase certain other fees. 2. Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 105 of the Marine Act 1988. 3. Commencement (1) These Regulations, except regulations 5 and 7, come into operation on 30 June 2005. Principal Regulations In these Regulations, the Marine Regulations 19991 are called the Principal Regulations. 5. Increased fee for personal watercraft endorsement on general operator licence In regulation 830 of the Principal Regulations, in Table 830, for "$5.00" substitute "$5.10". 6. Fee for replacement operator licence In regulation 831 of the Principal Regulations, for "$16.00" substitute "1·56 fee units". 7. Fee for search of records of operator licences In regulation 832 of the Principal Regulations, for "$6.50" substitute "$6.60". 8. Operator licence knowledge test fee In regulation 834 of the Principal Regulations, for "$20.00" substitute "1·95 fee units". ═══════════════ r. 4 -- 3 of 4 -- S.R. Nos 143/2003, 88/2004 and 152/2004. —— FEE UNITS These Regulations amend the Marine Regulations 1999 to provide for fees by reference to fee units established under the Monetary Units Act 2004. The amount of the fee is to be calculated, in accordance with section 7 of that Act, by multiplying the number of fee units applicable by the value of a fee unit. The value of a fee unit for the financial year commencing on 1 July 2004, is $10.23. The amount of the calculated fee may be rounded to the nearest 10 cents. The value of a fee unit for the financial year commencing 1 July 2005, is $10.49. The amount of the calculated fee may be rounded to the nearest 10 cents. The value of a fee unit for future financial years is to be fixed by the Treasurer under section 5 of the Monetary Units Act 2004. The value of a fee unit for a financial year must be published in the Government Gazette and a Victorian newspaper before 1 June in the preceding financial year. Endnotes -- 4 of 4 --
