O'Dwyer for the Applicant. -- 1 of 2 -- 2 Decision from the bench [1] This is an application by Anthony Arnold and William Bartley, being the President and Senior Vice President respectively, of the Electrical and Communications Association, Queensland Industrial Organisation of Employers seeking to amend the name of the said organisation. [2] The application is made in accordance with s 473 in the Industrial Relations Act 1999 ("the Act") and r 197 of the Industrial Relations (Tribunals) Rules 2011. The applicant is an industrial organisation of employers registered under the Act. [3] The object of the amendment is to amend the name of the organisation from "Electrical and Communications Association, Queensland Industrial Organisation of Employers" to "Master Electricians Association, Queensland Industrial Organisation of Employers." [4] On the material before the Commission, I am satisfied that in accordance with s 473 of the Act, the amendment to the name has been proposed under the organisation's rules; is not the same as another organisation's name; or so similar to another organisation's name as to be likely to cause confusion. [5] I am further satisfied that the applicant has complied with the requirements contained in r 197 of the Industrial Relations (Tribunals) Rules 2011 and s 18 of the Industrial Relations Regulation 2011. [6] Accordingly, I grant approval for the amendment to the name of the organisation, as sought in the application filed in the Industrial Registry on 18 December 2015. [7] The operative date of the amendment will be 16 February 2016. Orders [8] I make the following orders: 1. The Commission approves, pursuant to s 473 of the Industrial Relations Act 1999, an amendment to the name of the organisation from "Electrical and Communications Association, Queensland Industrial Organisation of Employers" to "Master Electricians Association, Queensland Industrial Organisation of Employers". -- 2 of 2 --
