CLERICAL EMPLOYEES AWARD – STATE 2002

AMENDMENT
THIS matter coming on for hearing before the Commission at Brisbane on 8 June 2005, this Commission orders that the
said Award be amended as follows as from 8 June 2005:
1. By inserting the following at the end of clause 1.2:
“Sick Leave provisions for the employees of QDL Ltd trading as Sigma QDL................... SCHEDULE D.”.
2. By inserting a new Schedule D as follows:
“SCHEDULE D – Sick Leave provisions for the employees of QDL Ltd trading as Sigma QDL
1.1 Sick leave
1.1.1 Upon production of a medical certificate or other evidence of illness considered satisfactory to the
employer, employees shall be entitled to leave of absence on account of illness for periods equal to 10
working days on full pay for each year of employment with the employer:
1.1.2 Provided that in the first 6 months of employment each employee shall be entitled to one day’s leave of
absence on full pay for each completed 6 weeks.
1.1.3 Sick leave shall be cumulative but no employee shall be entitled to receive, nor shall the employer be
bound to make, payment for more than 65 working days’ leave of absence on full pay due to illness in
any one year.
1.1.4 A medical certificate shall not be required in cases of absence on account of sickness for periods not
exceeding 2 days at any one time.”.
