18 May, 2001 QUEENSLAND GOVERNMENT INDUSTRIAL GAZETTE 63 S:\QIRCDEV-BASE\QGIG\2001\167\NO.3 18.05.01.DOC QUEENSLAND INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1999 – s. 125 – application for amendment Australian Salaried Medical Officers Federation Industrial Organisation of Employees, Queensland and Others (No. B281 of 2001) AWARD FOR MEDICAL SUPERINTENDENTS WITH RIGHT OF PRIVATE PRACTICE AND MEDICAL OFFICERS WITH RIGHT OF PRIVATE PRACTICE – PUBLIC HOSPITALS, QUEENSLAND PRESIDENT HALL COMMISSIONERS EDWARDS AND THOMPSON 29 March 2001 AMENDMENT THIS matter coming on for hearing before the Commission at Brisbane on 13 and 28 March 2001, this Commission orders that the said Award be amended as follows as from the twenty-ninth day of March, 2001:– 1. By deleting subclauses (2), (3) and (4) of clause 7 (Salaries) and inserting the following in lieu thereof:– “(2) Medical Officer with Right of Private Practice – Classification Per Fortnight Per Annum $ $ MORI-1 .........................................................................................................................2,938.60 76,665.00 MORI-2 .........................................................................................................................3,030.10 79,053.00 MORI-3 .........................................................................................................................3,117.70 81,338.00 (3) Medical Superintendent with Right of Private Practice – Classification Per Fortnight Per Annum $ $ MSRI-1 ..........................................................................................................................2,938.60 76,665.00 MSRI-2 ..........................................................................................................................3,030.10 79,053.00 MSRI-3 ..........................................................................................................................3,117.70 81,338.00 MSRI-4 ..........................................................................................................................3,209.00 83,720.00 (4) Senior Medical Superintendent with Right of Private Practice – Classification Per Fortnight Per Annum $ $ MSR2-1 .........................................................................................................................3,300.00 86,094.00 MSR2-2 .........................................................................................................................3,401.50 88,742.00 The rates of pay in this clause comprise the minimum rates payable under this Award. The rates of pay in this clause have been adjusted to include pay rates based upon the Queensland Health Certified Agreement (No. 3) 1998 (CA183/99). The rates of pay in this clause include the arbitrated wage adjustment payable under the 1 September 2000 Declaration of General Ruling and earlier Safety Net Adjustments. The rates of pay in the this Award are not to be adjusted for State Wage increases granted during 2000.”. 2. By inserting a new clause 17.A (Union Encouragement) as follows:– “17.A Union Encouragement The employer recognises the right of individuals to join a union and will encourage that membership, however, it is also recognised that union membership remains at the discretion of individuals. Where requested by a Union who is a party to this Award, payroll deduction facilities for union subscriptions will be available. Information on relevant unions (which will be supplied by unions) will be made available to relevant employees at the point of engagement. Union officials or authorised representatives will be given the opportunity to discuss union membership with new employees and to provide such employees with relevant union material including membership forms.”.
