-1. EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
-I.I General
Emplovrncnt conditions shall he as provided for in the relevant Award.
-1.2 Part-time Apprentices/Trainees
, 1 i Arprentices and/or trainee, may be engaged on part-time
arrangements "ith the consent of the State Training Council and he
remunerated on a part-time hasi, in accordance \\ith the pro,isions of this
Order.
t2.I CS:otwithstanding the prO\isions of the A\\anl. the ordinary hours of
\\Ork including on and off-the-_ioh training for a part-time apprentice/trainee
,hall not he less than fifteen hour, rer week averaged over the duration of the
rraining Agreement.
(Ji An apprentice/trainee may he engaged on a part-time basis until
such time as the apprentice/trainee attains the minimum training
requirements within the course of instruction.
(41 A part-time trainee shall he subject to a probationary period which
,hall exrire after 30 calendar day, or 152 hour, of wurkplacc cmrloyment
whiche,cr is the longer. A pan-time apprentice shall be subject to a
prnbationary period of no more than 180 calendar days. During the
prohationar) period. employment may he terminated by either party in
accordance "ith the provisions of the Act.

Tourism and Ho.spitality Industry.
5. WAGES AND PROGRESSIONS
5.1 General
Vi age arrangements for apprentices shall he read in conjunction "ith
Deci.sitms and Orders of the Queensland Industrial Relations Commi.ssion
made on 8 October 1973 /QG/G 20//0/73 ,\o_ 25 \!o/11111e 1\4. Folio .:/83-7!.
Future wage increases associated with the /\\lard and/or the Training
Wage Award - State shall be deemed to have alkct on th1.s Order. In
addition lo the rates pro,ided. apprentices are entitled to all relevant
allowances and conditions in the A\\ ard.
Wage arrangement� and progre��ion for traince:-,hips a� \\ell a:-. wage
progression for apprenticeships shall be provided for in Schedule I of this
Order
All other conditions of the award shall aprly.
5.2 Part-time Apprentices/Trainees
Payment, for a pan-time apprentice/trainee shall be ha.sed on the wage
arrangements and progressions as provided for in Schedule I to this Order
with the hourly rated u,ed ltir calculation purposes. The Award shall form
the hasis of \\age calculation in re,pect or annual lea,e. overtime. sick lca,e
and public holidays and shall apply on a f'/'O·ru/u hasis.
5.3 School Based Apprentices/Trainees
Trainees
(a) The wage rates for school based trainees shall he applied as foll<l\\s:
Year 11 Year 12
S4.90 Jer hour $5 .80 1er hour
Note: for the purpo,es of wa11e arnngements under this Order_ a
student is deemed to he in Year I I or Year I2 from the I st of January of
each year.
ih) Future adjustments to the \\ages prcscrihed in this clause shall he'
based upon adjustments to the ha.,e rates in the Training Wage Award -
State plus 19'/i. Base rates arc the Year I O and Year I I rates for Skill Le\CI
B. i.e.. S 156.00 per week and S 187.00 per week as at the date of this Order
Increases to the Training Wage !\ward - State shall be deemed to ha,e clkct
on this Order.
(c) School ha.sed trainees shall he remunerated in acu,rdancc \\ith the
\\age rates pre.serihed in clause 5.3iai for all time \\orkecl. incluuing time
spent undertaking on-th e -joh training. PrO\'idcd, that while a trainee i,
prcdominantl) attending a Secondary School as a full-time student. the
trainee shall not be entitled to wages or any other entitlements rrescriheu in
this Order, for the time spent attending a Secondary School and/or CDllege of
T AFE or other Approved Training Provider.
td) Pro,·ided that a school based trainee .shall not be entitled to
