3. By deleting clause 68 (Incidental or Peripheral Tasks) and
inserting the fol lowing in lieu thereof:
"6B. INCIDENTAL OR PERIPHERAL TASKS
(I) Arising ou t of th e decision of the State Wage Case of
October, 1989 , and in consideration of the wage increases
resu lting from the first Structural Efficiency adjustment
operative from 5 March, 1990, em ployees are lo be available
LO perfonn a wider range of duties, incl ud ing work which is
incidental or peripheral to th ei r main task or func tion s.
(2) Au employer may direct an employee to carry out such
duties as are reasonably within the limits of the employees
skill, competence and trainin g.
(3) An employer may direct an employee to carry out such
duties and use such tools and equipment as may be required
provided that the employee has been properly trained in the
use of such too ls and equipment.
(4) Any direction issued by an employer pursuant to subclauses
(2) and (3) above shall be consistent with the employers
responsibility to provide a safe and heahhy working
environment. ".
4. By deleting clause 6D (No Extra Clai111s) and inserting the
following in lieu tJ1crcof:
"6 D. NO EXTRA CLAIMS
It is a term of this Award arising from the decision of the State
Industrial Com111ission in the State Wage Case of Ju ly, 1991 tha t the
industrial organisation of employees undertakes, for the durat ion of
the princip les determined by th at decision, not to pursue any extra
claims, awards or overaward, except when consistent with those
principles:
Provided that if lhc ,ulticipa ted Australi an Industrial Relations
Commission Review of the Pri ncipl es is not. conc luded by I
November J99 I, the in du strial organisation of employees clearly
states that without prejudice to the continuation of the Award
Restructuring Process the industrial organisa ti on reserves the right to
review its position at th at ti111e in conjunction with the Trades and
Labour Council of Queensland and the Union Movement
collectively, and advise the Commission accordingly of the
collective decision adopted.".
5. By inserting a new clause 6E (Consultation) as follows:
"6E. Consultation
(1) The parties to this Award are committed to co-operating
positively to increase the efficiency, productivity and
competitiveness of the industries covered by this Award and
to enhance tJ1e career opportunities and job security of
employees in such industries.
(2) At each plant or enterprise, an employer, the employees and
their relevant industr ia l organisation or industr ial
organisations commit th emselves to establishing a
consultative mechanism and p rocedures appropriate to the
size, structure and needs of that plant or enterprise.
Measures raised by the employer, emp l<>yees or industrial
organisation or indust ria l organisations for consideration
consistent with the objec ti ves of' subclause (I) herein shall
be processed through that consultative mechanism and
procedures.''.
6. By de leting clause 16 (Juniors) and inserting the following
in lieu thereof:
"16. JUNIORS
The proportion of juniors in malthouses shall be not more than
one junior to every four adults or fraction thereof paid at the
minimum rate.".
