THIS matter coming on for heari ng before the Commission at
Bri sbane on 25 August 1995, this Commiss ion doth order as follows
as from the twenty-fifth day of August 1995 :-
.. I. This Order s hal l apply to cadet tra inees under a Contract of
Training knO\>vn as 'Cadet Eng ineering Associate'.
(a) A cadet sha ll mean a person without pri or experience in the
metal and engineering industry or other relevant work
experience who is employed under a contract of training
with an employer to complete the training qualification for
the C3 classi Ii cation in the Engineering A ward - State
(Associate Dip loma or equivalent).
The cadet shall have completed 50% of the modules required
for the qualification as a full-time or part-time student before
commencing employment with that employer.
(b) A cadet shall be paid as follows:
First year of contract of training .... ..
Second year of contract of tra ining .. .
Third yea r of contract of training ...

(c) The cadet shall not be entitled to be classified at C3 and paid
I 00% of the C3 ra te , notwithstanding the fact that the
qualification may have heen obtained, until the 3 yea r
contract of training is completed and the requirements of the
C3 classification definition are met.
2 . The conditions of employment for emp loyees employed as
cadets shall be those provided for in the Engineering Award - State.
3. That the above Order come into effect from 25 August 1995
and remain in force for a period of 12 months.".
