Such min imum rates adj ustments are Lo be absorbed into ovcraward payments where such paymenLS are be ing made. The Total Award rate also includes increast:s and adj ustments ar is ing as a n:sult of the second tier adjustments an d a ll structural efficiency adjust me nt s. Append ix A attached lO this Award lists amounts involved in broadbanding. Such amounts are to be absorbed to the ex tent of eq ui va lent overaward payments. 'Overnward Payment' is defined as the amoun t (whether it be tenned 'overawa rd payment'. 'attendance bon us'. 'servi ce increment' or any tenn whatsoeve r) which an employee wou ld receive in excess of th~ 'Award Wage ' which ap plied immt:diately prior to the date of operation of any broadbanding or mi nimum rates adj ustmen t awarded by the Commission for the classification in which the employee is engaged: Provided that such payment sha ll exclude overtime sh i rt a ll owances, penalty rates. allowances, fares a nd travell ing ti me a ll owances and any other ancillary payment of a like nature prescribed by this Award. Co nsistent with the requirements of that p rin ciple the $16.00 Safety Net Adjustment is absorbable to 1he ex tent of any equ iv ale nt amoun t in rates of pay - whether overaward, award, industrial agreemen t or certi lied agreement - in excess of th e minimum rates (base ra te and supplementary pa yment) prescribed in accordance wi th the October 1989 State Wage Case dec is ion and adjusted in acc-0 rdance with the July 1991 State Wage Case decision. Note 3 Excess Payment - In addition to the base rate, exce ss payments prescr ibed above are to be paid for a ll purposes of th e Award. Such excess paym ent shall not h av e an y subsequent percentage based wage increase applied to i i. Suc.h excess payment shall be paid to all exist in g and future employees. (2) Juniors - The minimum weekly rate of wages payab le to j un ior ernployees employed in clubs shall be calculated as follows:- Years of Age - Unde.r t 8 y ears of age .. I 8 and under 19 ....... (3) Calculation ofJun ior Rates - Junior rates shall be calculated in multiples o f ten cents with any resu lt of five cents or mo re be ing taken up to the next highest ten cent multiple.".
