Note 2 The supplementary payment at each classificati on level includes an $8.00 adjustment reflecting the ap pli cation of the a rbi trated Safety Net Adjustment Principle enunciated in the February 199 4 Review of Wa ge Fix i ng Pri nci pl es. Consistent with the requirements of that pr in ciple the $8 .00 Safety Net Adj ustment is absorbablc to the extent of any eq ui va len t amount in rates of pay - whether overaward, award, in dust ria l agreemen t or certified agreement - in excess of the minimum rates (classificat ion rate a nd supp le ment ary payment} presc ri bed in accordance wi th the October 1989 State Wage Case dec is ion and adjusted in accorda nce with t he July 1991 State Wage Case decision. Over-award Payment - Over-award payment is defined as the amoun t in rates of pay w hi ch an emp loyee wou ld receive in excess of the min imum awa rd wage as prescribed in th is Award fo r the classificati on in which such em pl oyee is engaged which applied immediately prior to the date of operation of this variati on : Provided th at this definition shall exclude ove rti me . s hi ft allowances, penal ty rates, expense rd ated allowance s. industry allowances, disahil ity allowances, vacat ion allowances, special rat es or allowances. responsibi lity a llowances. or any other anc ill ary payments of a like natu re described by thi s Award. Note 3 The percentage relat iv ities co lumn rdatcs to pcrcemagcs applying befo re t he applicat ion of the $8.00 arbitrated Safety Net Adjustment made in accordance with the February 1994 Rev iew of Wage fixing Principles.
