VARIATION
THIS matter coming on for heari ng before the Commission at
Brisbane on 10 May 1994, this Commission do th order that _the
said Industrial Agreement be varied as follows as from the sixth
day of June, 1994:-
By deleting subclause (b) "Adul ts" of clause 3 (Salaries) and
inserting the fol lo win g in lieu thereo f: -
"(b) Adults - The fol l owing minimum sa laries sha ll be paid
appropriate to years of adult cleri cal service:-

No te 2 The Supplementary payment at each class ification level
re flec ts t he $8.00 arbitrated safety net ad justment
princ iple enunciated in the February 1994 Review of
Wage Fixing Pr inc ip les. Consi stent wit h the
requ irements of t hat principle the safe ty net adjustment
is absorbable to the extent of any equivalent amount in
rat es of pay - whether ov eraward, award, industrial
agreement or certified agreement - in excess of the
minimum ra tes (c lassification ra te and supplementary
payment) prescribed in acco rd ance with t he October
1989 State Wage Case decision and adjusted in
accordance with the Ju ly 1991 State Wage Case
decision.
'Overaward' Paymen t is defined as the amount in
rates of pay which an e mp loyee wou ld rece ive in
excess of the minimum award wage as prescribed
in this Agreement for the classification in wh ich
such employee is engaged which apflied
immediately prior to the da te of operation o thi s
variation:
Provided that this defini tio n sha ll exclude
overtime, sh ift allowances, penal ty rat es, expense
related al lowances, vacation allowances, special
ra tes or allowances, responsibility allowances, or
any other ancillary payments of a li ke nature
describ ed by this Agreement." .
