Note 2 The supplementary payment al each classification level includes an $8.00 adjustment reflecting the applirntion of the arbitrated Snfoty Net Adjustment Principle euunciated in the February 1994 Review of Wage Fixing Principles. Consistent with the requirements of that principle the 5,8.00 Safety Net Adjustmrnt is absorbable to the extent of any equivalent amount in rates of pay - whether overaw11rd, award, industrial agreement or certified agreement - in excess of the minimum rntcs (base rak and supplementary payment) prescribed in accordance with the October 1989 State Wage Case decision and adjusted in accordance with the July 1991 State Wage Case decision. 'Overaward' Payment is defined as the amount in rates of pay which an employee would receive in t:xcess of the minimum award wage as prescribed in this Award for the classification in which such employee i, engaged which applied immediately prior to the date of operation of this variation: Provided that this ddinition shall exclude overtime, shift allowances, penalty rates. expense related allowanc.:s, industry allowance, disability allowances, vacation allowances, special rates or allO\\ances, responsibility allowan-:t:s, or any other ancillary payments ol a like nature described by this A ward. Note 3 The percentage relati,·ities column relates to percentages applying before the application of the $8.00 arbitrated safety net adjustment made in accordance with the February 1994 Review of Wage Fixing Principles.
