Such supplementary payment i s absorbable to the extent of equi va l en t overawa rd paymen ts where such paym en ts are being made. Th e to ta l award ra te includes the $8.00 Sa f et y N et Adju st m en t and also i nc lu des increases in ac cordance with Second Ti er March 1987, SEP October 1989 - first an d second payments and the SEA July 199 1 w age increa ses, broadbanding and th e mi nimum rates process. The percentage relativiti es are b ased on a base rate and supplementary paymen t totalling $4 17.20 per week at level 5. * The supplementary payment at each cl ass ifi ca tion level includes an $8.00 adjustment reflecting the application of the arbitrated safety net ad ju stment principle enunciated in the Feb ruary 1994 Rev iew of Wage Fix i ng Pr i nc iples. Consistent with the requiremen ts of th at Principle the $8.00 sa fety net ad j us tment i s ab sorbable to the extent of any equival en t amoun t in rates of pa y - whether over-award, award, industri al agreement or certifi ed agreement - in excess of th e minimum rates (class ificati on r ate and suppl em en tary paymen t) prescribed in accordance wi th t he October 1989 State Wage C ase decision and ad j us ted in accordan ce with the Ju l y 199 1 State W age Case d ec isi on. 8 April, 1994] QUEENSLAND GOVERNMENT INDUSTRIAL GAZETTE 'Overaward Payment' is defined as the amount (whether it be termed 'overawa rd payment', ·a tte ndance bonus·, 'service i nc rement' or any term whatsoever) wh ich an empl oyee would receive in excess of the 'Award Wage' wh ich appli ed immediately pri or to the date of op erat ion of any broadbanding or minimum rates adju stmen t awarded by the Commi ss i on for the cl a ss ifi ca tion in which the emp loyee is engaged: Provided t ha t such payment sha ll exclude overtime shift allowan ces, penally rates, all owa nces, fa r es and travelling time allowan ces and any other ancillary payment of a like na tu re presc ri bed by this Award.
