R58·4 of 1990 and 8657 of 1993) JEWELLERS AND WATCHMAKERS AWARD - STATE COMMISSIONER EDWARDS 14 March 1994 VARIATION THESE mauers coming on fo r hearing before th e Commission at Br is bane on 14 March 1994, this Commission doth order that the sa id Award be varied as fol lows as from the fourth day of Ap ril, 1994:- By deleting subclause (1) of clause 10A (Wages) and inserti ng the fol lowing in l,eu thereof :- ' 10A. Wa ges ( 1) Subject to clause 9 hereof the minimum rates of wages payable to the following classes of employees sha l l be :- The new classification struct ure expresses the award ra te payable, be ing the combination of the mi nimum cl ass ification rate, a supplementary paymen t which i nc ludes th e $8 safety net adjustment and increases arising from broadbandi ng and minimum rates ad ju st ment s. The award rate includes all increases and ad j ustments arising as a result of the Second Tier, 1st an d 2nd structural efficiency pa yment and st ructural efficiency adjustment and 1s t and 2nd minimum rates ad justmen ts . Consistent with the requirements of that Principle the $8.00 safety net adjustment is absorbable to the extent of any equivalent amount in ra tes of pay - wheth er overaward, award, industrial agreement or certifi ed ag reement - in excess of the mi nimum rates (classi fication rate and supplementary payment) prescrib ed in accordance wit h the October 1989 State Wage Case decision and adJusted in accordance with the July 1991 Sta te Wage Case decision.
