Note 2 - The supplementary paymen t at each class ificat io n incl udes an $8.00 adjustmenI reflecting the application of the arbitrated safety net adjustment principle enunciated in the February 1994 Rev i ew of Wage Fixing Principles. Consistent w ith the requirements of that Pr inciple the $8.00 safety net adjustment is absorbable lo the extent of any equivalent amount in rates of pay - whether overaward, award, industrial agreement or certified agreement - in excess of the minimum rates (base/classification rate and supplementary payment) prescribed in accordance w ith the October 1989 State Wage Case decision and adj us ted in accordance with the July 1991 State Wage Case decision 'Ove raward' Payment is defined as the amount in rates of pay wh ich an employee would receive in excess of the minimum award wage as prescribed in this Industrial Agreement for the classification in which such employee is engaged wh ic h applied immediately prior to the da te of operation of this variation: 20 May, 1994] QUEENSLAND GOVERNMENT INDUSTRIAL GAZETTE Provi d ed that this definition shal l exclude overt ime, sh ift allowances, penalty ra tes, expense related al lowances, i ndustry al lowances, disabi lity al lowances, vacation all owan ces, special rates or al lowances, re sponsib il ity al lowan ces, or any other anci lla ry paym ents of a like nature descri bed by th is Indu st rial Agreement.'.
