Police (Amendment) Regulations 2003
The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1. Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to amend the
Police Regulations 2003 to enable the Chief
Commissioner to appoint certain persons as
members of the force to carry out specialist
technical surveillance duties.
2. Authorising provision
These Regulations are made under section 130 of
the Police Regulation Act 1958.
3. Commencement
These Regulations come into operation on
1 January 2004.

4. Appointment to specialist areas
For regulation 6 of the Police Regulations 2003 1
substitute—
"6. Appointment to specialist areas
Despite regulation 5(b) and (d), the Chief
Commissioner may appoint a person with
special qualifications or relevant required
expertise to—
(a) the Police Air Wing; or
(b) the Police Bands; or
(c) the Technical Support Unit, Covert
Support Division.".
